Students celebrate Freshmen Spirit Night

On Aug. 31, McNicholas held its annual Freshman Spirit Night before the varsity football game against New Richmond. The event was held by the school’s Admissions Office, and included face painting, music, food, and a bus ride to the game. Throughout the night, upperclassmen from the Peer Mentoring Program and Spirit Club helped run the event, and taught freshmen the McNick chants they later used to cheer on the football team in a 61-13 victory.

“I think the whole event went very well,” said Christy Berning, Director of Admissions and Enrollment.  “I loved the enthusiasm, and we had a great upperclassmen volunteer turn-out. I was immensely impressed with the school spirit shown at the game, and thought the post-game celebration back at McNick was phenomenal.  It was all a great way to welcome the freshmen.”
