After a long day, it can be hard to resist sitting on the couch watching your favorite TV show for the rest of the evening. No matter a person’s age, everyone has a favorite TV show.
According to USA Today, Netflix is the most used streaming service in 2023. With the variety of shows and movies they have to offer, this is not surprising. Although most people will resort to Netflix or cable television for TV shows, others will use Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney Plus, and many more; some may even resort to illegally pirating movies.
On Netflix, the most popular shows of this year are Squid Game, Bad Surgeon, and Obliterated according to the Global Top 10 on the Netflix website.
Just because Netflix has the most users of all the streaming services, doesn’t mean that people only watch “Netflix Shows.” Here are some of McNicholas’ favorite TV shows on all platforms.
Some people enjoy adult cartoons. Family Guy and South Park have recently become popular with teens. “If I could be any character from Family Guy, I would pick Stewie because he can teleport,” states, freshmen, Riley Sharp.
Recently the western show “Yellowstone,” has become popular according to Variety. Variety also says that although the show is no longer continued, “The Walking Dead,” has remained popular.
“My favorite TV show is Friends because I feel like it’s really funny, but it can also be really emotional at times,” states, freshmen, Payton Detzel.
Friends is streamed on Hulu, Max, and Amazon Prime. The show features a group of friends who all live in New York.
Television is popular all around the world, but the use of cable television has been decreasing according to Tech Dirt.
“People are more invested in streaming platforms,” suggests Forbes. This may be because they have less commercials, they can binge watch their shows, or because it has a higher variety of content. Either way, there’s no denying that even with the onset of streaming, TV shows remain popular as an American pastime.
