Over the summer, McNick made a few noticeable renovations such as new flooring in the science labs and on the steps to the lower-level classrooms, a brighter more modern cafeteria, and additional comfortable furniture in the library. Later this year, they are making plans for more improvements around the school and making sure McNicholas students have a new and exciting working environment, according to Principal Mr. Bob Noll.
“We need to really give everyone what they need to feel maximized,” Noll said. He added that the faculty wants to give students and teachers a fun workspace, so they feel excited about learning and coming to school every day that motivates people, “And I think that’s the most important thing we need to change.”

Noll added that they are looking at the future for an auditorium or a renovated gym. Some have asked if McNick will build a larger chapel, but Noll said the archdiocese does not want schools to build larger worship areas, so families still go to their parishes for mass.
“We have started doing more of what is called a master plan for the whole facility,” Noll said, so before they start doing side projects such as an auditorium, or renovated library or gym, they want to finish the master plan. “We are hoping to finish the final draft in twelve to eighteen months,” Noll added.
“It allows us to really let our teachers and students be their best, then it also will help bring more attention to what a wonderful place it is,” Noll said.
