Recently, McNicholas announced to students that there were no spots remaining in the parking lot for students to purchase for parking during school hours. This has since caused worry among sophomores, juniors, and seniors who are upset that they will not be able to purchase a parking space when they get their license. With three parking lots full, there is limited space for every student.
Director of Facilities Mr. Mike Orlando said they hope to have some more student parking spots opened up by Christmas Break. In addition to making 20 spots available by Christmas Break, Orlando added, “We hope to do construction to make more spots over the summer.” While no parking spaces have been lost, spots are more quickly assigned because there are more licensed student drivers and there is an increase in faculty needing to be hired due to an increase in enrollment. Orlando said he and the administration are still deciding where to make the 20 spots available by Christmas break but as soon as they know, the information will be provided to students. Parking spots are $100 for the full year and $50 for the semester.
