With Spikeball growing in popularity as a new and inclusive activity, McNicholas students decided this was a perfect way to create new connections with their peers. In November, seniors Lexie Skinner and Ellie Suttles created Spikeball Club, open for all students to join.
“We were looking for something fun to do outside of school that could bring me and my classmates together,” Suttles said.
The club held its first meeting on November 7 during C.R.E.W. With a lack of attendance at the second meeting, both Skinner and Suttles hope to hold meetings more consistently, once a month, after Christmas break.
“We have three [nets], and then members of the club provide a few more, so we have six nets for use,” Skinner said. She added, “anyone can join or come to the meetings. [The club] will be really fun and we will have music.”
Moderated by Mr. Todd Naumann, the club utilizes nets provided by C.R.E.W. leadership as well as from members of the club. Previous meetings were held at Paradise; however, with the cold temperatures setting in, the club hopes to hold meetings in the main gym.
Students are able to sign up through this link or by emailing either Lexie Skinner (104020@mcnhs.org), Ellie Suttles (103972@mcnhs.org), or Mr. Naumann (tnaumann@mcnhs.org).
