Senior Spotlight: Senior balances academics, work, and fundraising for McNicholas

Q: What do you do for McNicholas?

A: Hi, I’m Francie Goff. I’m a senior at McNick. I am a 4-year soccer athlete, including Rocket Award Recipient, member of CREW leadership, member of Hope Squad, Student Ambassador, member of St. Vincent de Paul Youth Conference, flight captain, Kairos 140 leader, freshman/sophomore retreat leader, Faith on Fire Club, 4-year St. Joseph Scholar, member of Science National Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, president of Art National Honor Society, and National Honor Society. I have worked at Soccer Village for the past two years.

Q: What does McNicholas mean to you?

A: I am very passionate about my participation and involvement with the McNick community. One of my biggest accomplishments is raising over $15,000 for the Rocket Raffle to help with tuition assistance for future students. McNick has become my family over the years, and I have grown academically with challenging AP, CCP, and Honors courses and emotionally through preparing for college and a world beyond high school.

Q: Where do you plan on attending college and studying?

A: I am attending the University of Cincinnati and will be majoring in Interior Design. I have always known that I wanted to go into an art major, and I’ve had the opportunity to take Architecture these past three years with Ms. Gaskins. I fell in love with designing and problem-solving spaces and working to fit the space and aesthetic of a client or business.

Q: Do you plan on continuing your participation in certain activities for McNicholas or other places in the future?

A: I’m hoping to continue to work with non-profit organizations through joining a sorority at UC and want to raise awareness for certain issues. I have two younger brothers and family members that go/have attended McNick, so I always will feel like I have a home to come back to.
