Memories ranging from sports achievements, such as making it to the state tournaments and a championship, to making TikToks with friends, the Class of ‘25 has made many memories with each other and made a lasting impact on McNicholas High School.
Senior Dylan Nguyen said his favorite memory was “making TikToks freshman year in Mr. Hutchinson’s CREW.”
Many theatric productions with seniors Will Tipton, Jonathon Byrum, Noel Shelly, Jacob Gundrum, Lauren Switzer, Matthew Irvine, Lila Moeves, Emily Richmond, and Katie Claes have been performed such as Cinderella, Guys and Dolls, Mean Girls, and Xanadu. The State Thespian Troupe also had the honor of performing their production of Dracula at the State Thespian Conference in 2024.

Members of the Class of 2025 have also set the record high for many different sports. The 2023-2024 Men’s Volleyball Team took home the state title after falling short and losing in the semi-finals during the 2022-2023 season. The Women’s Volleyball Team took home the runner-up for state in their 2023-2024 season.

In addition to setting records, students at McNicholas have been able to expand their horizons and experience new courses and learning styles. The addition of different culinary courses (Culinary Chemistry, Culinary French, Food Science) has had a major impact on students’ learning abilities and even inspiring some career choices. Each course offers students the chance to perform labs, learn new languages, experience different cultural flavors, and use their creativity to plate delicious food.
Senior Ashley Blum, who is a Culinary French student, said, “I really enjoyed bonding with my class and Mrs. B was always so encouraging and loving. Saying ‘We belong in the kitchen’ is one of our favorite inside jokes within the class.”

While McNicholas only had the Rocket Learning Community for a year, a few students from the Class of 2025 were able to experience it. “The RLC offered many different hands on and outside of the classroom experience, which is something that helped me understand a lot of the lessons we were learning,” senior Ava Wille said. English teacher Mrs. Angie Noble was one of the four teachers who taught in the RLC and said it has been one of her favorite classes to teach for the Class of 2025. “The off-campus experiential learning opportunities we had each month were every teacher’s dream. Being able to teach The Great Gatsby and tell the story of George Remus while at the ‘scene of the crime’ at the gazebo in Eden Park will hopefully help the students remember history and the book through our reenactments there,” Noble said.

As the 2024-2025 school year comes to an end, so do the memories that were made. One of the last class events where memories can be shared and reminisced before graduation on May 19, will be the Senior Sunset event taking place in Paradise this Friday May 9 at 6:30 p.m.
