McNick makes way for the circus, celebrating Homecoming with a ‘big-top’ theme

On Sept. 24, McNicholas will have its annual Homecoming Day. The theme for 2011 is “The Greatest Show on Earth,” making a reference to a classical circus. As always, each class will represent a different aspect of the theme. Seniors will be ringmasters and lion tamers, juniors will be magicians, sophomores will be clowns, and freshmen will be acrobats and tightrope walkers.

Outside of the dance decorations, the theme will be part of Spirit Week (Sept. 19-23), the week before Homecoming Saturday. To kick off the celebration, McNick is teaming up with the Cincinnati Reds for the “Rockets Day at the Reds” on Sep.18, where the McNicholas community can gather to cheer on the Reds against the Milwaukee Brewers. The school week will also have an exciting finish, with a Pep Rally on Sept. 23 followed by McNick’s annual Walk Day.

On the actual day of Homecoming, students are also encouraged to go to the other games, listed below, and support Rocket athletics.
