“America’s Next Top Model” Contestant to speak to McNicholas

On March 18, guest speaker Leah Darrow will talk to McNicholas students about chastity during an afternoon assembly. Darrow, a former contestant on the reality TV show America’s Next Top Model, realized that her clothing and lifestyle as a professional model did not match her Catholic values. She returned home after being eliminated and turned her life around. Currently, Darrow tours around the country, giving speeches to high school students.

Sophomore Molly Kidwell has begun working with Principal Patty Beckert and Director of Communications Angie Noble to advertise this assembly. “I found out that she was going to be coming to McNick through Pregnancy Center East,” Kidwell said. “I was working on a project for Girl Scouts about chastity there and was told that Leah was going to be a guest speaker. Mrs. Beckert and I are working to advertise it and hopefully we will get students to bring in money and other donations for Rocket Relief funds.”

According to Kidwell, the money will be used to buy cribs, strollers, and other supplies for Pregnancy Center East. More information about donations will be available prior to the assembly. To learn more about Leah Darrow, check out her website at www.leahdarrow.com.
