An alternate idea to the McDonald’s or IHOP breakfast is a healthier restaurant called FirstWatch Breakfast and Brunch.  This restaurant serves as an ideal place for a nutritious and delicious breakfast option on late arrival days.  It prides itself on having healthful menu options, and has become quite popular because of them. Hours are limited on this restaurant (7:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.), so be sure to pop in early. More information on their food options can be found on their website.

 Luckmans Coffee

5200 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230

Most students at McNick are regular attendees at the popular Starbucks or Dunkin’ Donuts chains due to their need for coffee.  However, many might not know of the delicious alternative which is Luckmans Coffee Company.  This small café, placed on the edge of a strip mall at the bottom of the Beechmont hill, has a variety of delicious flavors of coffee and muffins with a relaxing atmosphere of couches and free Wi-Fi.  Extra convenience is added due to their drive thru.  A full list of muffin and coffee flavors can be seen on their website.

Mt. Washington Creamy Whip & Bakery Desserts

2069 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45230

In the heart of Mt. Washington lies an old-timey ice cream parlor which serves as the perfect after school treat for children and adults alike.  The building, relaxed and colorful in nature, gives customers the feeling of circa 1950. An assortment of toppings and flavors are offered to satisfy any sweet tooth.  Just walk in and see which treat you’d like to savor on a hot day, and with sidewalk seating, it’s great for watching traffic up and down Beechmont.

Mama Mimi’s Take n’ Bake Pizza

 8312 Beechmont Ave, Cincinnati, OH

This healthful dinner alternative is especially helpful for teachers who are unable to make anything on a busy night of grading.  Mama Mimi’s is unique because of its steadfast commitment to nutrition and good home-cooked meals.  The way it works is that you arrive at the parlor with any idea of what kind of pizza you would like that night.  You make your own pizza with all the desired toppings, and when finished, it’s ready to take home and be baked whenever you’re hungry for it.  A full list of possible pizza flavors and toppings can be found on their website.
