Senior athletes say good-bye to high school teams

As many fall sports teams are finish their regular seasons and start tournaments, seniors plan for their final games. As seniors prepare for their last year playing as a Rocket, they have advice for underclassmen and last words for their teammates.

Senior Women’s Soccer Captain Lauren Rice has played soccer for McNick all four years of high school. She would like to tell the freshmen to take advantage of being on the team. “Be [yourself] and open up to new opportunities and people because you never know where life will take you, and someday the people around you will grow to be your best friends,” Rice said.

Football player Jacob Kennedy is graduating and would like to tell his fellow teammates to cherish being on the team.

“This is our team and don’t take the time for granted,” Kennedy said.

The Cross Country Team has eight seniors graduating including Nick Keri. Keri wants freshmen to know that Cross Country is worth the effort.

“[Cross Country] is a lot of work, and you have to be committed, but it’s a ton of fun,” Keri said.
