McNick prepares for Prom, After Prom

The McNicholas 2017 Prom has been set for April 22, 2017. The theme for this year’s Prom is “Masquerade,” and the theme for After Prom is “McNick’s Magic Kingdom.”

Senior class president Zach Woodke pitched the idea for a “Masquerade” Prom. He took a “word of mouth survey” and the agreed upon theme became “Masquerade.”  Prom will be held by RSVP at 453 Wards Corner Rd. – just north of Milford on I-275, the same location since 2005.

Dinner starts at 7 p.m., and students planning to eat should arrive no later than 7:30 p.m. The dance officially begins at 8 p.m. and ends at 11 p.m. After Prom begins at midnight and ends at 3 a.m. After Prom, sponsored by PTSA, will take place at the McNick campus and will feature activities ranging from petting a python to laser tag.

Teacher Barb Gilming has assisted in preparing Prom for the past four years. “My favorite part of planning prom is seeing the smiles on students’ faces as they enjoy the last dance of the year,” Gilming said, “and for seniors, their last dance of high school.”

Tickets were sold for Prom April 10 through the 13 at $37.50 for singles and $75 for couples. After Prom tickets will continue from April 18-20 but will be $25 and a t-shirt is not guaranteed.
