Christmas is celebrated by decorating the tree, giving and receiving presents, and baking Christmas cookies with friends and families to set out for Santa! A delicious cookie to set out for Santa are peanut butter blossoms. This is a family recipe that I have been making with my family during Christmas time every year. Allergic to peanut butter? Sunflower butter can used instead.
For this recipe, you’ll need the following ingredients:
- 12 ounces of creamy peanut butter (or sunflower butter if allergic to peanut butter)
- 2 ¼ cups of flour
- 1 cup of softened butter
- ¾ cup of sugar
- ¾ cup light brown (packed) brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 2 bags of Hershey Kisses or as many as needed (1 per cookie)
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder

Once all of the ingredients have been gathered, it’s time to begin!
Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2: Measure all of the ingredients (except the Hershey Kisses) into a large bowl.

Step 3: Beat ingredients on low speed just until blended.

Step 4: Increase speed to medium and beat until well mixed.

Step 6: Shape dough into 1 ½ inch balls.

Step 7: Roll the dough balls in sugar.

Step 8: Place the dough balls on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Step 9: Bake 15 minutes or until lightly browned.

Step 10: While the cookies are baking, prep the Hershey Kisses by taking the wrappers off the amount needed and set them aside for later.

Step 11: Once the cookies are done, let them cool for one minute. Then, place the Hershey Kiss in the middle.

Step 12: Enjoy!
