Mens Basketball Prepare to Start the Season

Winter is on its way and Men’s Basketball is about to start their season. The first game is December 6th at home vs the Dayton Carrol Patriots.

Tim Monahan, head coach said that he was excited for another competitive schedule for both league and non-league play. Monahan said

“There’s nothing that beats Friday night GCL games.”

Monahan continued “We have a lot more experience last year we were young and didn’t have the experience we do this year. Now we do and I’m excited.”

Monahan stated that he was excited to play Bishop Watterson after losing to them in the tournament a couple years ago.

Monahan believes that Chaminade-Julienne, CJ, will be the toughest opponent this year. They are excited about the challenge and the opportunity to play them twice. Senior Tyler Haynes and Charlie Keith both said that CJ will be the toughest game because they got good transfers coming to the team.

The players have grown together over the offseason and have more trust in each other.

Keith said “I’ve made a lot of friendships on the team especially from other grade levels.” Keith continued “We are a lot closer off the court than we were last season and that will help us in the long run.”

Haynes said “Loves playing with his friends and that the team is like a brotherhood. We have a chance to be really good this year and we just need to trust each other and put the right pieces together.”
