When it comes to buying candy for trick or treating each year, the question may come of what is the best Halloween candy that trick or treaters will love. According to New York Magazine, the best candy in the world is Cadbury Cherry Ripe. This is different than the best candy nationally, which is Reese’s and M&M’s. Chocolate candies are more popular in the United States rather than other countries which prefer candies unlike the standard chocolate.
When students at McNicholas were asked what their favorite Halloween candy is, many more answers were fruity candies rather than chocolate candies. There was a tie between Nerd’s Clusters, Sour Patch Kids, and Skittles. Closely following was Reese’s Cups.

Freshman Ali Strange states, “I think that Skittles are the most liked candy because they are very common, and I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like them.”
Around 600 million pounds of candy are purchased every Halloween, and about 3 million are Skittles. Freshman Abby Turnick states, “I think people should give out Skittles this Halloween because everyone likes them.”
Strange states, “Skittles, Kit Kats, and Jolly Ranchers should be given out this Halloween because everyone eats them.” This goes along with Skittles being most people’s favorite candy.
Overall, there is no single best candy, but fruity candies are more liked than chocolate candies at McNicholas. Of those, candies like Skittles and Sour Patch Kids are what students are most excited to receive.
