Best Christmas movies to bring the spirit of the season

With the Holiday season in full swing, Christmas movies are being shown everywhere on TVs. There are many movies, so it can be difficult to decide what to watch, and which one is best. 

Freshman Maycee King states, “The Santa Claus [movies] because it is very funny and it’s not boring,” when asked what her favorite Christmas movie is. According to Rotton Tomatoes, The Santa Clause was rated 73%, and 66% by the audience.  

Freshman Riley Williams states, “The Polar Express because me and my family watch it every year.” Many families have Christmas traditions, and watching movies may be one of them. The Polar Express is a popular movie for all ages.  

Freshman Anna Woeber also states, “Polar Express because I love the older Christmas movies.” 

Polar Express was rated 56% by Rotten Tomatoes, and 64% from the audience. The Polar Express is a very common movie for kids to watch in school because it teaches a lesson to never stop believing. 

Freshman Savanna Stacey states, “Home Alone is my favorite because I like the characters in the movie.” Home Alone was released in 1990, and it is a movie that many people have watched and enjoyed. Home alone is a trilogy, but the original has the best rating. Home Alone received 80% by the audience. 

Freshman Charlotte Jenkins states, “I like White Christmas because I like watching it with my grandma.” White Christmas was produced in 1954, and it is one of the oldest Christmas movies made and released. Rotten Tomatoes rated it 77% and the audience rated it 88%, which is one of the best ratings for Christmas movies. 

Overall, the best Christmas movie according to Rotten Tomatoes is Meet Me in St. Louis. This movie received a 100% rating, and 87% from the audience. Meet Me in St. Louis was produced in 1944, and it is not commonly watched by students.
