McNicholas High School Prom is right around the corner, taking place on Saturday April 27, 2024. This year, prom will be taking place at the Newport Syndicate. The theme for prom this year is “Viva Las Vegas” Faculty and Staff are rushing around to finish final preparation details in place before the big night. Students attending are planning where to take pictures and talking about where they got their outfits from.
Mrs. Jenni Tumser, Prom Chair and Administrative Assistant to the Principal, has dedicated much of her time and efforts into prom this year. She states, “I actually start planning prom in the winter.” In addition to her time spent planning for prom, Tumser spends an ample amount of time at the venue for prom setting up. “I’m usually down there at, between 9 and 10 A.M., and we’ll get out of there at about 4 P.M.” she states.
According to a survey taken by McNicholas students that plan on going to prom, most of the girls got their dresses at Dillards. While pre-prom pictures are a great way to look back on the memories made that night, most students, as of survey date, did not know where they planned on taking pictures with their group yet.
When asked about this year’s venue and theme Tumser stated: “the Newport Syndicate is kinda known, as like an underground casino, many, many years ago. And so, it’s a really cool venue and already has that theme going, so I think it just coincides really well with the theme.”
