For high school students, fun drinks have become quite a trend. Ranging from coffee from Dunkin’ to refreshers from Starbucks to Alani’s from home, McNick has it all. The real question is how long it takes to finish their drink. Do students chug it in 20 minutes or keep it around all day from A bell until D bell and savor every sip?
In a recent Milestone survey, students, and faculty of McNick provided how long it takes them to finish drinks. Out of the 40 respondents, 52% considered themselves chuggers and 48% associated as a sipper. Freshman Audrey Richardson said, “I’m a chugger when it comes to Starbucks and a sipper when it comes to energy drinks.” There is no right or wrong answer, but when it comes to water, researchers recommend “chugging” to increase your intake. English teacher Mr. Robert Cornwell said, “I typically finish these drinks quickly; I don’t want them to go bad or become lukewarm!”
Respondents also were surveyed on how long they take to finish their drink. Senior Bri Lach said, “I usually finish the drink within a couple of hours if it is really good but sometimes, I have a little bit left at the end of the day that I don’t end up drinking.”
Some faculty and students get a fun drink often while others look at it as a special treat. Freshman Scott Shimp said he gets one every day. He also added that when he travels with his family and make stops to fast food, that’s when his drink creativity comes to life, “I love Wendy’s dine-in, I love to mix the vanilla and cherry Sprites.”
