Milestone seniors sign off for 2025-2026

What’s up, Rockets! This is one final goodbye before the Milestone is in the hands of someone new. I have taken this class all four years of my high school career and it has been the biggest blessing in disguise. I took this class because I needed another elective and I knew I had a friend in this class. Little did I know what I was getting myself into. My first two years I had Ms. Thomas as my teacher, and got to finish my time with Ms. Noble. These last four years have been a journey I will always look back on. I have been able to improve my writing and build relationships I will always cherish. I will never forget this class and the laughs we all shared.

To the readers, thank you for always reading the Milestone stories. The journalism staff puts countless hours into these stories and we appreciate your enthusiasm.

To the Milestone Staff, thank you for your patience and putting up with me each day and all that you have helped me with this year. I always enjoyed being in class, even when we would get sidetracked. I loved getting to know each of you and I know you are going to do great things with the Milestone in the next few years! I am so proud of you guys and I cant wait to see where you all end up! Remember I am always here for you!! I was so grateful to be the editor in chief this year, but I could not have done it without you guys.

I want to thank Ayla too, my senior buddy. Getting to see you every morning has been so much fun and four hours has nothing on us. I am so happy I have gotten to experience this class with you. You never failed to cheer me up when I was tired in the morning, or stressed for a test. I will always cherish our friendship and I cant wait to see the amazing things you do. I love you so much!

To Mrs. Noble, even though I never had you in English, you were always there for me with anything I needed. Thank you for being my biggest supporter in this class and always being flexible with me. From the first day of class my junior year, there was no doubt in my mind about how much you care about each one of your students, and I am so grateful to be one of them. You are an amazing role model and the reason I feel confident going into college. On the days I didn’t want to do my work you always pushed me to become a better journalist and helped me to be a harder worker. Thank you for all the memories, and always letting me talk to you. I will especially miss our journalism playlist and Justin Bieber mornings. You are one of the most amazing teachers I have ever had, and have helped me to become a better person. Thank you for everything you have done for me and all the lessons you have taught me in school and out. I love you and will miss you so much!!

This is editor in chief, Whitley Sway, signing off.

What’s up, Rockets! It’s officially time to say goodbye. Although I was only on the Milestone staff for two years, these have been the most exciting and fun two years of my life. I will miss the staff, readers, and Mrs. Noble so incredibly much.

To the Readers, I am so grateful I have had the opportunity to be one of your McNicholas journalists, and I hope to have provided you, readers, with a source of entertainment and news about the school. I hope you all enjoyed reading these stories as much as I loved writing them. Thank you for supporting my stories and social media posts with all the kind comments and likes.

To the Milestone Staff, I am truly blessed to have been a part of such a wonderful team of people. You all, Maeve, Rosie, Alex, Meghan, and Sarah, have made these past two years such a memorable one. Our donut breakfasts, late-night editing, and fun social media reels were moments I will never forget. Thank you for helping me grow both as a journalist and a person. Your kindness and love will never be forgotten. I genuinely will miss you all so much, and I hope you guys cherish the time you have left as a Milestone journalist, because it goes by so fast.

To Whitley: It says Whitley, but I really mean Whitney. These past two years together have been so beyond amazing and I am so grateful for how you just accepted me into into the staff and the school. You showed me so much love and I’ll forever cherish our moments together in journalism, especially our cafe and interview adventures. Without you I wouldn’t be the strong journalist I am today. I am so sad to leave you and not have our A Bell mornings together anymore, but I know that we will always stay close and that you are going to do such amazing things in the world. I love you so much Whitney, thank you for everything, I am truly so lucky to have worked alongside of you and had your guidance.

To Mrs. Noble, Wow, these past two years have gone by so fast. It feels like just yesterday I was sitting in my first-ever journalism class, not knowing what to expect. Although I was only here for two years, you have helped me to grow so much as a writer and a person. So, thank you. Thank you for always encouraging me and being an accurate display of what strength and resiliency are. I am so blessed to have been one of your students and given the opportunity to be taught by one of the most intelligent people I know. I have learned so much from you, and will take that knowledge everywhere with me.

This is Ayla Dickerson, Social Media Editor, signing off!

Thank you Rockets have a good summer!!!
